The U.S. Postal Service delivers mail to homes and business Monday-Saturday. Mail is not delivered on Sunday or legal holidays. Special delivery and express mail is delivered seven days a week. When mailing a letter in the U.S. make certain to use the zip code as this will speed up delivery.

Information about the current postal rates and USPS services can be found at http://www.usps.com/rates/welcome.htm. The current rate to send a one ounce letter first class within the U.S. is 39¢. The current rate to send a one ounce letter from the U.S. to an international location is 84¢. The rate for mail to Canada or Mexico is 63¢ for the first ounce.

Yale Station, a branch of the U.S. post office, is located at 206 Elm St., in the basement of Lanman-Wright Memorial Hall. The post office is open 8 a.m.-6 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m-noon Saturdays. The "Parcel Post" window is open during those same hours. While not as convenient as Yale Station, the main New Haven post office is located at 50 Brewery Street (near IKEA). This office is open Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 6:30 pm and from 8am to 1pm on Saturdays.
